​Uniform: 
White scrub top (the school provides 1 scrub top) 
navy  scrub pants (student's responsibility)
Requirements​
  • Pass 10- Panel Drug Test and Random Drug Test done @ DHEC  and /or clinical site discretion
  • Pass criminal background check (no felony charges,  no assault and battery charges)
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • A negative TB test report ( before the start of clinicals) 
  • The ability to read and write English​ 
  • ​All tattoos must be covered 
  • Nails must be short with no artificial covering
  • No facial piercings 
  • Only ear lobe piercings allowed  
  • ​Long hair must be pulled back ​
  • No head scarves or wraps(unless for religious purposes), no caps or hats when in uniform


NURSE AIDE COURSE 
Upon completion of this course
  1. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate competency in skills and techniques necessary to care for patient’s needs.
  2. The nurse aide student will be able to exhibit competency in skills necessary to maintain or improve patient’s functioning.
  3. The nurse aide student will be able to communicate and interact competently with patients, family members, and care teams on a one-to-one level.
  4. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate sensitivity to patient’s cultural, emotional, social, mental, and physical needs through appropriate interactions.
  5. The nurse aide student will be able to assist patients in attaining and maintaining functional independence.
  6. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate behavior in support and promotion of patient’s rights.
  7. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate skills in observation, reporting, and documentation needed to participate in the assessment of patient’s health, physical condition, and well-being.
  8. Upon satisfactory completion of all requirements of the course the student will be eligible to take the NNAAP examination.
Medication Aide 68-hour Course
Course content includes but is not limited to:
1. Preparing for safe administration of medications to clients in assisted living facilities
2. Maintaining aseptic conditions
3. Understanding of basic pharmacology
4. Facilitating client self-administration or assisting with medication administration
5. Following proper procedure for preparing, administering, and maintaining medications; and

6. Following appropriate procedures for documentation and reporting to the licensed healthcare professional on duty at the facility or to the client’s prescriber.
