EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2021, ALL NURSE AIDE AND MEDICATION AIDE STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE FULLY VACCINATED BEFORE THE START OF CLASS. WE WILL CHECK THE VALIDITY OF ALL VACCINATION CARDS. 

ONLINE NURSE AIDE COURSE 

Upon completion of this course
  1. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate competency in skills and techniques necessary to care for patient’s needs.
  2. The nurse aide student will be able to exhibit competency in skills necessary to maintain or improve patient’s functioning.
  3. The nurse aide student will be able to communicate and interact competently with patients, family members, and care teams on a one-to-one level.
  4. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate sensitivity to patient’s cultural, emotional, social, mental, and physical needs through appropriate interactions.
  5. The nurse aide student will be able to assist patients in attaining and maintaining functional independence.
  6. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate behavior in support and promotion of patient’s rights.
  7. The nurse aide student will be able to demonstrate skills in observation, reporting, and documentation needed to participate in the assessment of patient’s health, physical condition, and well-being.
  8. Upon satisfactory completion of all requirements of the course the student will be eligible to take the NNAAP examination.

Length of Course:
8 week course
​*7 - 4 hour  Skills lab required on campus * ( 830am-1230pm or 5pm-9pm). These are scheduled once a week , starting the second week of class 

**5- 8 hour clinical days required at contracted Skilled Nursing Facility** (all clinical days are  6:45 am - 3:15 pm). Clinicals will start  once a week after the 3rd week of class

Requirements
  • Criminal background check 
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • A negative TB test report ( before the start of class) 
  • The ability to read and write English
  • High school diploma (recommended).
  • CPR required before clinical rotation
